Multnomah Falls

"Plummeting 620 feet from its origins on Larch Mountain, Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. Nearly two million visitors a year come to see this ancient waterfall making it Oregon’s number one public destination."

Newport

The next stop with Sol was Newport, Oregon -- home to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Rogue brewery. We were even welcomed with an elusive double rainbow. Being a home brewer, I am always searching for delicious beers. Living in Utah has made that quest more difficult but made me appreciated Rogue's hand-crafted ales even more.

Slabtown

I drove out to Portland a few days before Geekfest to hang out with my good friend Sol Neelman. The first night we hit the bar Slabtown. I was reminded how much I miss non-Utah beer. They also had Guitar Hero playing on a big screen TV. The highlight of the evening was hustling some locals when they bet me a beer that I couldn't beat "Carry Me Home" by The Living End. I enjoyed a delicious Portland Indian Pale Ale.

Geekfest: PDX

Last week about 40 photo geeks descended upon beautiful and hip Portland, Ore., for the third annual Geekfest. My group's name was "The Diptychs." Here are a few of mine.

You can see everyone else's pictures HERE.

Beijing 2008

I recently learned that I will be photographing the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing for The Tribune's parent company, MediaNews. This has been one of my photography goals ever since I picked up a camera in middle school. I am especially excited because my primary job will be to "find good stories and make interesting pictures." I can't wait. (even if the characters in the logo look like asian teletubbies...)
