Family, friends and community members reflect at a memorial set up for the shooting victims at South Sable Blvd and East Centrepoint Drive in Aurora Thursday July 26, 2012. The site is covered with hundreds of balloons, candles, flowers, stuffed animals, rosaries and many other items people have left behind in remembrance of the victims.

Crews work to put out the Quail fire above Alpine Tuesday July 3, 2012. A wildfire that started about 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lambert Park in Alpine has burned at least one structure — a barn — and 80 homes have been evacuated, according to the Lone Peak Police Department. Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the fire was human-caused — somehow sparked by a man was working on a trackhoe near the Alpine rodeo grounds.

Dr. Reed Hall, Veterinary Area Emergency Coordinator for Utah, and Dr. Robert Erickson, a field veterinarian with the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food, test a dairy cow for foot and mouth disease during a simulated Foreign Animal Disease scenario at the USU Caine Dairy Teaching and Research Center Wednesday August 1, 2012.  The Utah/Idaho Foreign Animal Disease exercise was intended to strengthen the teamwork between the two states' local governments and private livestock owners to prevent the spread of a Foreign Animal Disease.  The three-day exercise included classroom training on topics of biosecurity on the farm, strengthening community agro-security planning, livestock inspection, techniques of incident command structure, necropsy techniques and pathogenic control.
