Rugby Fans

Every so often, you encounter a scene so bazaar and random, you are thankful to have a camera in your hands. I was shooting an assignment at a local high school when I stumbled across a low budget movie set. They were shooting a film about rugby and had a few hundred arm/leg-less blow up dolls set up in the bleachers, to create the illusion of a crowd. I probably spent way too much time photographing them, but the crew was on lunch break and I was having fun. Enjoy.

HAHA, that’s hilarious. I found out they did something like that in the movie “Dogtown and Z-boys.” They didn’t want to pay hundreds of people to be filler/sit-ins so they dressed a bunch of dummies. Smart thinking.

Yea, apparently, they do it a lot in movies. I guess it is cheaper to just rent these blow-up dolls than to pay (and feed) thousands of extras to do the same thing. Still really freaky though.

Very freaky indeed. Very cool that you were able to stumble upon it though.
