Saratoga Springs made history election night, becoming the first Utah city to elect a black woman as mayor. Councilwoman Mia Love defeated challenger Jeff Francom in the contest to replace outgoing Mayor Timothy Parker. “I am absolutely honored,” Love said. “I am so excited.”

I shot a couple of great soccer championships Friday night. Alta won its 4th straight 5-A state championship in a thrilling shootout.

After BYU’s victory over San Diego State, I stayed in a hostel on Mission Beach for another day to relax on the beach, eat fish tacos and drink delicious beer.
