I shot a couple of great soccer championships Friday night. Alta won its 4th straight 5-A state championship in a thrilling shootout.

After BYU’s victory over San Diego State, I stayed in a hostel on Mission Beach for another day to relax on the beach, eat fish tacos and drink delicious beer.

BYU won the game 38-28.

I have concluded in my non-scientific but very delicious testing, the perfect amount of time to dunk a double-stuffed halloween oreo into 1% milk is 34 seconds for the first bite. Twenty-five seconds for the second bite.

David Cross made a stop at The King’s English bookstore to sign copies of his new book, “I Drink for a Reason.”

He then performed his stand-up at a club downtown. He was hilarious and very entertaining.

I hope he comes back soon.

Carbon High School hasn’t had a victory since Aug. 31, 2007. It is the longest losing streak in the State. On Friday, they played Park City and the results were the same. The team was losing 47-0 at halftime and eventually lost the game 54-0.

This was Carbon’s 22nd straight loss and in the past six games, they have been outscored 279-9.
