Danger on the Baseline
Here is a sequence of pictures from a close call shooting a local high school basketball game. Luckily, he jumped and I was spared having the camera slam into my face.

Gordon B. Hinckley
During the past two and a half years, I have photographed LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley on three occasions: his 95th birthday celebration, during last April’s General Conference and at the dedication of his new visitor and alumni center at BYU.
On Sunday night, Hinckley passed away. He was 97. As you can imagine, this is major news here in Salt Lake City. I got the call to go down to Temple Square to see if anyone would congregate to lay flowers, pray, sing, light candles, etc… There were only a dozen or so people walking around the temple when I first arrived at 9pm. By 11, the crowd increased to over a hundred, many of whom were singing and lighting candles in remembrance of Hinckley.
This is going to be a historic week with a public viewing on Thursday and Friday, and the funeral service on Saturday.
